New Spinach-Linked E. coli Outbreak: Leafy Vegetables Remain a Threat

In two hundred6, more than two hundred people have been converted and five died in an outbreak of E. coli in various states similar to Dole’s baby spinach. The intake of leafy vegetables, especially romajore lettuce, spinach and sprouts, is one of the main reasons for recent outbreaks of foodborne illness.

“More than 15 years after an outbreak of E. coli killed five baby spinach and caused kidney failure in dozens, we are facing what I hope will be a much smaller problem,” Marler said. “However, this outbreak highlights the persistent dangers of leafy vegetables and highlights the desire of the industry and government to redouble their efforts to save them,” Marler added.
